Named after the rare silicate mineral.

Charoite is a frequenter of many underground fighting rings, especially cage fights. He's pretty good too. He fights dirty and has a sharp tongue, but when he’s not off doing shady stuff he’s out on patrols with Larimar and the other lair guards. Capone is his number one patron, booking him opponents and arenas. Charoite pretends to be oblivious to the tundra's double dealings, but he is equal parts in awe and fear of Capone.

Charoite has found favour with the Lair’s matchmaker and flirt, Felicity. Charoite lives for the high he gets during his fights, and the money's pretty nice too. He truely believes there's no fight he can't win, and he's famed for his fearlessness. However, he can be very reckless, and often comes home to his coatl love bleeding and bruised. 166px-Czaroit1.jpg Charoite (K(Ca,Na)2Si4O10(OH,F)·H2O)[4] is a rare silicate mineral, first described in 1978 and named for the Chara River. It has been reported only from the Sakha Republic, Siberia, Russia. It is found where a syenite of the Murunskii Massif has intruded into and altered limestone deposits producing a potassium feldspar metasomatite.

Charoite is translucent lavender to purple in color with a pearly luster. Charoite is strictly massive in nature, and fractures are conchoidal. It has an unusual swirling, fibrous appearance, sometimes chatoyant, and that, along with its intense color, can lead many to believe at first that it is synthetic or enhanced artificially.

Though reportedly discovered in the 1940s, it was not known to the outside world until its description in 1978. It is said to be opaque and unattractive when found in the field; a fact that may have contributed to its late recognition.
