Biography
Halinka
Father of Frozen Treatmakers
A very shy and timid individual, Halinka relies on his mate Marla for the majority of the pair's social interaction. Will go out of his way to not have to speak to anyone.
Halinka met Pulse and Bytor when Marla took a liking to the pearlcatcher, and decided she would be her newest friend. Throughout this exchange, Pulse exchanged stares with the Wildclaw, Halinka, who too possessed sparkling wine-coloured markings, but his in the form or runes. They did not even need to speak to eachother to know this meant they would now be journeying together.
This pair produces wine flavoured Treatmakers and Artisans
Colours: ice/ice/(flavour)
Primary: iridescent, metallic, savannah
Secondary: shimmer, alloy, hex
Tertiary: crackle, smoke, stained
These dragons come from a long line of frozen treat makers. Over the generations, their bodies have taken on the frosty sheen of the environment in which they work. While some have smooth scales or skin, others have developed a soft velvety fuzz which helps insulate them from the cold.
In their native Southern Icefields, their work is a year-round activity. In other regions, treatmaking is constrained to the winter months unless an ice cave, ice magic caster or specialised freezing device is available to freeze flavour syrup into solid blocks.
Very conscious of food allergies, each Treatmaker specialises in a particular flavour to prevent cross-contamination. This also results in markings of a pure colour. The colouration of their chosen treat flavour stains these dragons' pale hides from an early age; the amount of coverage generally corresponding to how often a misbehaving hatchling finds its way into the sweet syrup. Markings are reinforced over time by spills and splashes while working. It is said that the markings taste faintly of the flavour a Treatmaker works with, but attempts to test this theory are met with disapproval.
Variant: Treatmaker Artisan
Colours: ice/ice/(flavour)
Primary: iridescent, metallic, savannah
Secondary: shimmer, alloy, hex
Tertiary: lace, runes, circuit
These dragons pride themselves in being the very best at their work, or art as they will often call it. A Frozen Treat Artisan can often be found leading a large treat-making operation, like the head chef in a restaurant. Others set out on their own to run boutique frozen treat establishments. Artisans are prone to being blunt and socially awkward, or headstrong and arrogant, which can cause difficulty for them in social settings. Examples of their work can often be found on their Insdragon accounts.
Frozen Treat Artisans adorn themselves with intricate patterns, drawn in with treat flavour syrup. For some Artisans this is a status symbol, showing that they are more careful and precise in their work than the average colour-splattered Treatmaker. For others it is a way of expressing their individual artistic flair.
