When you first see her, you think for a moment that you’re looking instead at the night sky or some dark primordial being.

When you aren’t looking she tucks your secrets into the space between her ears. When you try to ask for them back she smiles without teeth and tells you that she holds the knowledge of more secrets than you will ever think to imagine and that you should return to resting. As you close your eyes again, you catch her weaving new stars into the sky and telling them snippets of your secrets in a fragmented, lulling tongue that is just barely audible.

Do you think you know the shape of things before there were shapes?
The taste of things before the first of lip and tongue and taste bud had been conceived? Do you know my name before it warped to dragon tongue?
I think you may have forgotten, this and all the things you used to know and all the things you think that you still do. But I have not because I am one with the stars and have known of these things since the beginning of my time and will know them until my end.
