Maple

Maple comes from a high class family, the educated sort who see no reason to leave their homeland because nowhere else compares. They have the reputation of being kind to their neighbors but also suspicious of outsiders; they like their homes, their bubble and what is familiar.

Curiosity may kill the cat, but not these Coatl.

Maple however...

Was born ornery, and seemingly destined to forever perplex and frustrate her family, gleefully in fact. Instead of tea time with the children of her parent's friends and leisurely strolls she wanted to explore, and her coloring made it especially easy for her to lose anyone who was supposed to be minding her.

She wanted to read books her siblings did not, wanted to speak to all sorts of dragons at the marketplace that were far outside her parent's comfortable circles, and travel farther and farther away. Maple obviously loved fire--still a Coatl at her core--but she was tired of seeing the same lands every day! What do lands covered in ice look like:? Forests so old and wild that you couldn't see the top of the trees?

By the time she had reached adulthood she had read all the books in their family's library and everything the local library had. It was too small! Or perhaps, her wandering heart was too much for her town.

So, much to her parent's chagrin, she packed up her favorite books and some treasure to make her way out into the world. To see, to talk, to hear, to learn. She filled journal upon journal and sent them back home, to be put back safely on a shelf, because all knowledge is worth having and could be of use.

But her journey isn't over yet!
