WHITE GHOST CLAN
Pale Vision Familiar
Guinevere was trained to take over the clan from her father, however when Arthur of Camelot started his rule, he began looking for allies in other lands. The Pale Visions made for valuable assets, and so Arthur bullied her father, Castor, into giving her to him as a mate. For the sake of her clan, Guinevere went along, even though she was very unhappy to be pulled into another clan's politics. |

She and Arthur only had one clutch that resulted in three eggs. Her oldest Amhar, had a creative mind and became the head of the inventors and blacksmiths in their clan. Her second, Loholt had a keen eye for numbers and so was delegated the task of keeping track of the Clan's Hoard. Her youngest, Gyneth however had a mind for leading, and so Guinevere made sure to teach her daughter all that needed to be learned about running a clan. After her children grew into adulthood, Guinevere found her life very boring. Arthur was a distant mate and not a very good companion, and he was usually so preoccupied with the idea of war that she found they had nothing in common. Eventually, Guinevere took a liking to the head of her mate's knights, Lancelot. Lancelot had been assigned to protecting the Queen and so was forced to spend a lot of time with her. Eventually the two grew much closer than anyone expected. However, when Arthur's son (whom Guinevere had known nothing about), Mordred, came to Camelot, Guinevere became angry. Mordred was a strong warrior, and his only competition to taking over as ruler of the clan was Gyneth. The Council of Elders elected the next leader themselves, and were prone to skipping over female dragons in favor of males, as males were more prone to war and claiming more territory. Gyneth, though a powerful dragon in her own right, did not seem to be any real competition to Mordred. Guinevere became bitter. She saw her own existence as pointless. She had sacrificed ruling her own clan in favor of ruling Arthur's and yet it seemed none of her children would rule after her. Perhaps without meaning to, Guinevere began to fall in love with Lancelot, the only one who seemed to understand her anger towards Arthur. |
Guinevere became quite certain that Mordred was seeking to simply usurp Arthur instead of waiting for him to die, although she had no proof. Fearing for her safety and the safety of her children, she employeed Lancelot to help her prove that Mordred's presence in Camelot was nefarious.
However, this plan eventually backfired.
Mordred, using magic that was unknown to Guinevere, revealed her affair with Lancelot to Arthur, who unexpectedly flew into a jealous rage. This rage prompted Lancelot and Guinevere to flee Camelot, but it was not long before they were ambushed. Lancelot was able to escape, however Guinevere was captured.
Mordred, the traitor, had insisted that Guinevere be executed for her betrayal, however Arthur refused. Arthur decided to keep her alive and use her as bait, to lure Lancelot back. Arthur wanted Lancelot to be executed, not Guinevere. Until Lancelot came for her, she was kept under close watch and not allowed out of the Fortress. The Queen was kept as a prisoner in her own clan.
When Lancelot did eventually return, it triggered the start of what would later be called The Great War.
