Azurine stared down at the paper, and it stared back at her. Its hollow off-white frame haunted her in all of its uniformity and dullness. It was her responsibility, and hers alone, to bring life to this blank start. If she weren’t to save it with her creativity, it would be thrown out. It was always this that brought her the motivation to continue in her work. Azurine considered creativity to be the savior of originality and of things that would be otherwise forgotten.

And so, with great upheaval to her mood, she picked up a cakey paintbrush and began to swipe a dull cranberry-rust color onto the paper, imagining what Dragonhome might look like. All of the Earthshaker’s domain flooded her mind’s eye, and slowly it began to emerge on the blank paper. And a few short, painstaking hours later, it was done. It didn’t feel like work to Azurine. Time to get back to her portraits. Her commissions funded her constant need to be creating while also offering her a contribution to the clan.

One, two, three and four lovely portraits corrupted their once pristine portraits into something much more raw, but also much more worthy of admiration. A smiling Guardian was Azurine’s favorite. She had met him in another clan and made a lasting friend. Admittedly, she was always too wrapped up in her work to talk to others much, though.

Finally, every last scrap of paper, canvas, and wood lay littered with color and texture. Azurine sat back, finished with her day’s work but already eager to rise and begin again. It is only when things are made beautiful that she allows herself rest.
