I've been told that I seem out of place in this crew. I'm no warrior, my sense of direction is flawed at best, and the one time I tried to drive the ship ended in disaster. Who knew you could crash a ship on the only rock within ten miles? I have discovered that it is indeed possible. Ismael wasn't too pleased with me that day. I know I belong, though. My goal is to record all the knowledge in the world, and I cannot do that if I stay in one place. Each new destination brings new information, new possibilities, new things to learn. I keep the crew safe with my knowledge of dangerous places and wildlife. Sometimes I aid Dimitri in diplomatic proceedings, as well. With how rowdy pirates are, he needs all the help he can get.

My studies of language are also quite useful, given the wide range of unique individuals we encounter during our travels. I can proudly say I am the master of several different forms of draconic, the basic dialects of the Beastclans, and several ancient languages used by various tribes across the continent. I've started teaching some of them to Shinku, who tries his best despite having difficulties. It's quite amusing to have conversations that only we can understand, leaving the others perpetually confused.

Willow, my harpy companion, shares my love of the scholarly arts. She is quite the artist, and misses the days when her species concentrated on such skills. With the shift to more warriorlike practices, her talents became practically useless within her society. The poor thing fled from the flock, longing for a place where she could create works of art once again. We met shortly before I joined Clan Mizu, and we bonded over an intense discussion of art and poetry. She now acts as an assistant of sorts, and is free to practice her skills as she desires. Sometimes I wonder how many of her kin would follow in her footsteps, if given the chance. The changes that have taken place within their society are some of the most drastic I have recorded.
