UNUNOCTIUM
It came in the night, they say, with muddled words and hushed whispers. Unwavering fervor of fear and anguish stained anyone's eyes who had seen it, entity itself or carnage alone. Too gruesome a scene it left in it's wake, that smeared the tears and stabbed the hearts of more than a thousand souls.
Not often did it make notice; a taunt of gravest offence, as if to flaunt akin to a stalking predator. Silent yet stifling in presence, absence spoke mountains more than words. The churning broth of broiling death stirred and sloshed constantly, splattering with each step. Each roll beget a new strain, each step arose a frothy maddening substance. So fearful of the stench it emanated were they, every creature that dare breathe in its vicinity would soon rather end its own life.
"None known such travesty could be brought by our Gods 11."
"Wrought up of nothing but malleable ill-will laced with poisonous maliciousness."
What sin gave way to materialize this wretch, they never wished to know. Only blood stained truths would answer the bottomless question; the Hecatomb of entire populations in a single sitting could be seen as a cleansing to the blank, soulless beast.
Or, perhaps that was all it knew how to do.
