Biography
Originally from Dragonhome, Norrell was raised with the expectation of becoming a warrior, protecting her clan and eventually leaving to serve the Earthshaker. Such was her family's legacy.
As a child, she rejoiced in her destiny, and saw it as her highest calling. She trained in combat, hunting, and foraging in order to round herself into the strongest she could be. Then came the day of her test.
In order to complete the ritual to join her clan's warrior ranks, she was to complete a hunt on her own, returning only when she had enough to feed the council and a symbol of her strength to weave into her armour.
Her hunt was nearly successful, and she only needed her symbol in order to return home. As she scoured the area, she passed a river to find a noggle stranded on the shore, struggling desperate for life with a gash on its side. As it was already scraggly and starved looking, she resolved to pass on by, but the noggle's cries bound her fast. She was reminded of the cries of animals whose parents' lives she had taken, and the pain she had felt when her parents had left her to the care of the tribe and been exalted.A sudden realisation that this was not the life she wanted, a life defined by the destruction of others, and swore to save this creature. Dumping a basket of stored food, she collected water and placed the noggle inside so it could breathe. Using some of the suppies from her hunt, she was able to bandage the wounds and feed the noggle.
She returned with the remaining food for the council and the noggle. When asked for her symbol, she shook her head. "I have found a symbol, yes, but it cannot be woven into armor. Just as I cannot serve as a warrior in this clan. I have other duties to fulfill." The council left for a meeting, and returned with a message of disapproval, 'Your duty is to serve and protect this clan. If you are not willing to do even that, then this clan no longer has a place for you."
Undettered, Norrell resolved to look for a new home. She drifted for a long time, but eventually heard tale of a small clan in the Viridian Labrynth that welcomed those who were looking to get away from the fighting. Eventually she found her way, and was welcomed with open arms.
Currently, she serves on the hunt party for the Shivelight Collective, putting her experience to use to protect the clan and mission she now feels is her own. She enjoys spending her downtime caring for the aquatic life nearby, digging channels to allow wilthing plants the chance to revive, and playing games with the children. Her noggle stays by her side, often causing a little mischeif to play with Norrell Often, those stopping by will go on hunts with her, increasing their power for their own gains or for the use of their deity. These visitors often remind her of her old self, and how different her life is from what it could have been. She never regrets her choice.
