Sacred-Ocean
"The Diver"
Sage of Water Revakokaaz came to the clan as both a gesture of peace from the neighboring Water clan, and as a spiritual healer. He was born with a strange condition that has caused almost his entire body to be made of of pure water. Some say he was born of the ocean as a water spirit; a gift from the Tidelord, or that he was one with the Water Element. Whatever the cause, it has made keeping his form intact very difficult, with a great amount of effort and magic needed on his part. In hopes of harnessing Ice magic to make his body more solid, he has come to the Southern Ice Fields and joined the Clan of the Sacred Flame. |
Revakokaaz released himself from his meditations with a heavy sigh; nothing seemed to be working. Years of study and concentration on the primordial Ice magic were proving fruitless, he just could not keep a steady hold on the magic. Every time he closed his eyes, he could see it, dancing on the edges of his vision like the boreal lights of the southern sky. He sighed again; each day took a toll out out of him. The many layers of binding magic that the old sages had placed upon him in his youth drew upon his strength and pressed against him tightly. It was the only thing holding him together, literally.
Rising from his mediation circle, Revakokaaz slowly made his way to one of the windows and gazed out over the frozen sea. The Southern Lights danced over the horizon, coupled with the twinkles of hundreds of stars. Looking left, he could see Silonfil's Observatory was lit as well, with its own tiny version of the Southern Lights adding to the aurora. He could see a tiny form flapping about inside; presumably Silonfil, he was always up late with his own studies.
As he watched, Silonfil's movements seemed to get more frantic and erratic. Suddenly, the entire Observatory lit up like the sun, and the once tiny aurora grew enormous, its lights growing into giant tendrils. Revakokaaz jumped back in fear as one of the tendrils flew towards his tower. Before he could even begin to put a magic ward up, it phased through the wall and engulfed his form in light. As he faded to unconsciousness, he felt his every nerve hum with energy.
He woke with a start, it was morning. A pale beam of sunlight shone through his window, giving way to a clear blue sky. Hesitantly, he rose from the floor and peered outside. Silonfil's Observatory still stood, seemingly no worse for wear. Nothing at all seemed amiss. Sitting back on his haunches, Revakokaaz pondered if he had dreamt the whole thing. Suddenly something caught his eye, it was his magical wing wrappings....on the floor. Panicking, he whirled to check if his wings were still bound in place. There they were, fully intact, without their binding magic. Cautiously, he flexed them. They felt...stronger, solid. Suddenly he noticed he could no longer feel ANY of the binding magic on him. And yet, here he was. As he glanced again at his wings, he noticed a glittering sheen to them, they shone in the light, much like...
He looked out unto the frozen sea, and smiled.
