August is the oldest member of the clan, he has put literal blood sweat and tears into protecting it, and when Gilri noticed the taint in the clan she asked him to take her chosen and go, leave before it could claim them, and August once again had to watch hid beloved clan fall asunder, not to tyranny or treason, but the very plaguelands that had kept them hidden so long...
As he and his chosen few struggle to find a footing in their questo to establish themselves and leave the plaguelands, he can't help but feel a sense of dread and misery, everyone he had known and loved and protected were now just another addition to the Abiding boneyard... only his Honor keeping him going, but even that falters with time...
