It was a great joy to Mo Xue and her father when one of her two children was born with the rare Gift of Aetheromancy, something which only those who possess the Gift can pass on to their children and which does not pass easily. For this reason he was trained by his mother and grandfather in all things magic from a young age so that he could understand his power and use it responsibly. His sister also stayed behind, for reasons not revealed to him by his elders, but he was grateful for it because despite his immense potential and status as the older sibling, Miho was his constant friend and protector.

Still uncertain as to what path to take in his life with his incredible Gift, he remained a student of magics full-time, taking odd jobs here and there to make ends meet but mostly focusing on study and discipline. He wanted to follow in the footsteps of his famous grandfather and his mother who was trusted with the safety of the clan's princess whenever the Queen was not around, but at the same time he was cautious about being used to do harm by those who craved the power his Gift could bring.
