Name

Six spends his time hovered over his desk writing beautifully crafted poems and stories or pacing excitedly trying to recount the discoveries the other Maesters have made. His quick mind and even quicker claws are perfect for scratching down everything that his fellow scholars say and do. Including Rhaegar’s runes and Gish’s crazy potions.

Even in the dark of night you might find his cave still lit with candles, Six stroking perfect letters in ink; writing and munching on dried fish tails. Though his writings have been in much use to the clan, Atticus often views the little Coatl as unimportant; however, Six is completely oblivious to his leader’s degrading words. Despite this, the Coatl is very successful amongst his clan-mates. Hatchings and elders alike flock to hear his stories, waiting patiently to read his written works. He is the most popular of the Maesters.

In his free time, you may find Six speaking quietly with his fellow Maesters, whispering about experiments and ideas with too much enthusiasm or perhaps collecting feathers and stones from the undergrowth around his clan home to make dream catchers and clever contraptions. The little dragonlings love them, they will bring Six pretty jewels and bright strings to him so he can make them toys and play objects. Six loves the hatchlings, and the hatchlings love him.

Born to his parents Lunalis and Hexia, Six was the only one hatched without the prized opal gene, besides his little sister, whom he loved fiercely. He was least liked by his parents, but him and his sister Elturgard stood together through it all. They were two of a kind, constantly in each other's company. It wasn't until the two had reached maturity that they realized what was coming.
Within a month the two were separated, sold to different clans far away from each other.

Six was distraught. He locked himself in his room, staying away from his new clanmates. For days he was like this, until he opened his door and stalked down the hallway, in search of food. He ran into Rhaegar the clan’s Maester. Noticing the Coatl’s grief, Rhaegar suggested he write how he felt in a form of a story.

This changed Six’s life, writing became his stress relief, his anchor, his heart. Rhaegar encouraged him to become a Maester and work for the clan in a new way. Years passed in content, until he received a letter from his sister to the west, only a region away. Happiness overcame him. Now he visits his sister all the time.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Six ate quietly while everyone moved around him. Six was different. He didn't emote like other dragons, he was like a Fae in a Coatls body. Six was monotonous and didn't understand the emotions that others conveyed. Was the leader happy or sad when he gave announcements? He always assumed what he was feeling by what he said. If something bad happened, he would sound the same in Six's head, but he understood that this was bad news.

Why did people smile? There's no way or work of it, so why do it? Emotions are...strange, to say the least. Of course, he found out at a very early age that being mostly mute and expressionless was absolutely unacceptable, so he pretended. He pretended to know what emotions were and learned how to fake them. His caretakers were instantly happier with his faking -they thought he was normal.

But..he wasn't.

Six walked away from his food. He smiled dimly when he passed a "friend" of his, and bowed his head in respect when elders walked by. He stepped outside into the cold air and took a deep breath.

The coatl flew upwards heartlessly and landed atop the dens peak. Six let the fake emotion drain from his face, settling into a mute expression. This is how he liked it. Not lying or faking, just being himself. Six took out a pad of paper and a feather quill and started a poem. This is how he would show the world how he felt. And it would understand why he didn't feel, or rather, couldn't feel. Yes. They would understand...soon enough.
