Biography
Arrigo
OVERVIEW
Dream-walker Patient • Soft-spoken • Perceptive
BIOGRAPHY Arrigo comes from a long and esteemed line of pearlcatchers on his mother's side. She was an esteemed empath within her clan, and grew worried for her son when she sensed disquiet in him. Arrigo had become plagued with nightmares - not just his own, but the fears and worries of his clanmates manifested themselves in his dreams as well. It seemed that he had inherited some variation of his mother's gifts, but the methods she had found for channeling and controlling her abilities were of limited use to her son, for as similar as his abilities were, they were different, too. His dreams grew more and more crowded by those around him until he could hardly bear it, and he left his clan behind to seek solitude in the wilderness, travelling to the south to seek out isolation. Instead, in a time of need, he found friends. Ariadne and Zeal stumbled upon him on the road, starving and exhausted. At first Arrigo was reluctant to accept their aid and company, but he opened up to them soon enough. He had missed the company of other dragons after all those weeks in the wilderness. Joining them on their journey and learning more from Ariadne's wisdom and Zeal's easy charm, and though his dreams were occasionally disturbed, it was not until they drew near their home clan, the city of Brightwinter, that Arrigo found himself plagued by true nightmares once more. He told his friends - reluctantly - that they must part ways, but his companions could see plainly enough that he was unhappy living alone in the wilderness. The two came to visit Arrigo in the mountains often, always inviting him back with them. At first this actually angered him - they knew he couldn't, didn't they? But anger gave way to reluctant hope. Perhaps, there was a way.... he began to travel and search Sornieth and himself for answers, studying different techniques and speaking to many clans. The answer to his nightmares was finally found in the art of lucid dreaming - as were previously unknown, or at least unrecognized and uncontrolled abilities. With practice, he could not only take control his dreams, and shut others out, but also let them in selectively - or even visit their own. No longer did he simply experience nightmares, now he could confront his own fears, and help others do the same. It took quite a lot of trial and error, but Arrigo finally allowed himself to accept the invitation and visit Brightwinter. What his future holds is still uncertain, but for the time being he remains here, slowly growing into his abilities. Those who come to him for help do not always like the answers they receive, and their path to healing may be difficult, but Arrigo is patient and steadfast in his newfound role - the more he helps others, the more he seems to blossom.
