Brought home from a scavenging patrol into the plaguelands, he may have red eyes but will happily claw open anyone who dares to claim he is not an Arcane dragon.
Under the teachings of Havoc, he's been training to take on a more aggressive role to protect his newfound clan. It's slow going, especially when he continuously compares himself to the older dragon, but the newfound strength and status is allowing his confidence to grow.

Upon reaching Rank 10, an honor only a handful of his hard-fought for clan have reached, Havoc took Scratch aside, presumably to heap praise upon his ferocious fighting apprentice. Scratch, naturally, was in awe - Particularly when Havoc promised him reward. Acceptance despite his origins was praise enough, but there was no fighting his eagerness.
The process burned like acid, stripping away layers of color to reveal new, mottled, bright patterns underneath. Gone were the simple earth-tones, the flat basic expanses of skin and scale. Now his body was bursting with color.
