It had been a calamity that had changed the face of Sornieth, changed the Sunbeam Ruins, changed the fate of three young dragons yet to be born. Despair reigned amongst the dragons that had lost everything in the course of the devastating hours that they all just lived through. But few dragons felt the horror deeper than the two dragons who had just lost their beloved nest, mere days before it would finally have hatched. The three eggs that sheltered the unborn dragons from every harm, always tendered, guarded by their loving parents, had been washed away. Their eggs were gone.

The Lightweaver deeply felt the sorrow of the dragons residing the Sunbeam Ruins while she gazed from the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. The storm had passed and made way for the sun to bizarrely illuminate the remains of what used to be the home of countless dragons. Never lingering on one particular spot for too long something caught the Lightweaver’s attention. Following a sudden intuition, she leaped from the Beacon of the Radiant Eye, descending towards the glimmering object that she now realized was an orphaned egg that had been washed ashore at the foot of the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. Closely inspecting the lonely egg, she awoke to the fact that the egg’s surface was scared by several cracks, forming a fragile web not unlike the dried-out soil of the deserts. But despite the countless cracks pervading it’s surface the egg still radiated fiercely in the glimmering sun. The Lightweaver gently pushed her nostrils against the brave egg, beaming a gentle flow of warm, strong energy into the egg, turning the perilous cracks into precious veins of pure gold sealing the fractured shell.

Feeling that her duty was done she ascended to the sky looking for others in need of her help. She left the Beacon of the Radiant Eye behind, always following the inner pull towards those who needed her the most. As she spent the day rebuilding what had been lost she found two more orphaned eggs that she took care of in the same manner. One she found just as the setting sun covered the Mirrorlight Promenade in an illustrious spectacle of blazing red clouds clashing against the flaming light of the sinking sun. Just as the one before, this egg was covered in cracks that the Lightweaver healed by turning them into veins of lucid rubies that flashed in the fiery light of the setting sun.

After a sheer ceaseless day, the Lightweaver began her return to the Beacon of the Radiant Eye when a particularly dull spot at the darkest rims of the Hewn City drew her nearer. Again, she found herself facing a cracked egg, but this one seeming strangely obscure under the moonless night sky. Yet, the scared egg radiated a mysterious and gentle aura that magically indulged the Lightweaver. She again softly touched the egg, filling the cracks with gleaming Labradorite. Finally, she ascended into the sky to return home, feeling her duty was done at last.

When they finally hatched three days later at summer solstice, the three dragons knew little about the journey they had already lived through, the wonders they had already seen and the sisters and brothers they had. The only witness of their unusual journey that connected all three of them was the fine web of ore and gems that embellished their bodies as it had adorned their eggs before.

The hatchlings soon grew up to become strong, magically gifted dragons. As time passed they each founded a clan, teaching their ways of magic and becoming ancestors to a lineage of dragons, that to this day bare the distinct markings their ancestors had received from the Lightweaver’s healing touch.

[ Aureate ] The personality of these golden inhabitants of the Beacon of the Radiant Eye is just as gentle as their softly coloured bodies promise it to be. They enjoy the company of others and while they have taken a keen interest in social relationships and their development over time, they prefer to study in the wide and open field instead of staying in rather dusty libraries. As they take great pleasure in helping others, they mostly use their strong magic and brilliant minds to heal injured and ill dragons or to help them solving difficult tasks.
