In his early life, Zaughn was constantly pushed around and forced to fight for his life every day. He enjoyed it; though he has always been smaller than average, he was also much stronger than the other hatchlings, and it felt good to beat them in fights. He never had any friends, never saw a need for them - he was strong enough on his own. When he came of age to leave on his Search, he was reluctant - he didn't think he needed a Charge. In the past, he has found himself developing a bond with other dragons, though only ever with unusually strong warriors who prove themselves to be worth his time. One such opponent was his mate, SugarSnap. They fought day and night when they first met, and he found himself developing feelings for her - something that had never happened before. As he never stays in one place for too long, he tends to stay on the outskirts, not seeing any point in developing trust with any others, and his tendency to think everything is an invitation to fight. |

While he travelled across a vast grassland, Zaughn was set upon by a strong, lone Raptorik Wanderer. They fought a long time, the Raptorik being much quicker than Zaughn gave him a hard time. Eventually he bested it, though, and offered it a reward for such a good battle. Since then, Zaughn has travelled with his new familiar, who acts as a guide and scout for the lumbering dragon. They share their kills and any rewards they get from fights and sales, and both are happy. Zaughn still doesn't consider it a friend, though, he believes if the money left, so would the Wanderer. |
