Aldaris

Born on the far away plane of Aror, Aldaris became a dragon when he sold his soul to an ancient deity for power. His soul fractured, part of it going to the ancient deity, and part was blasted across the multiverse. This part found its way to Sornieth and took over a dragon body. He eventually found his way to Clan Alys, which was the first clan to not laugh out when he told the story of how he got there. Xerces even had been to Aror, once upon a time, but left when a war broke out and he couldn’t find any dragons.

Aldaris spends most his time chatting with Xerces, hanging about with Merida, sparring with Asmodeus, or, when Daggoth’s awake, conducting experiments on the nature of the soul with Daggoth. Merida and Aldaris, who are now life mates, were once perpetually at each other’s throats. They had a budding friendship when Merida attempted to boss Aldaris around, who was having none of that. He used one of his forelegs to punch Merida square in the jaw, knocking her out cold. They became bitter enemies, who formed a fast friendship after being stuck in a cave during a cave-in, waiting for Shor to use his rock magic to free them.

As a professor, Aldaris has the only class regarding the soul, and how different magics can affect it. It also contains a rather controversial unit on selling one’s soul. Aldaris maintains that it’s perfectly fine, especially as he doesn’t teach them how to sell their souls to any creatures that exist on Sornieth.

Aldaris and Merida are life mates. Aldaris says he learned much about her while they were trapped together.
