It's not the disability that defines you; its how you deal with the challenges the disability presents you with. We have an obligation to the abilities we do have, not the disability.
Painter

Oriana knew something was different about since the moment she was born. Her vision was poor, images often blurred together. Hiding in the corner of her parents' den, she overheard them voice their concerns about her. How she would soon lose all her vision and therefore unable to serve the clan in any meaningful way. It hurt to hear them say she wouldn't be able to be anything more then a burden on everyone.

Despite her failing vision, Oriana took up painting. She would crush up plants, berries mostly, and would use them to fill her chosen surfaces with beautiful scenery. At first, it was difficult, having to learn completely from scratch with no one to help her and teach her anything. Slowly over time, as with every skill, she grew better and was able to make her scenes look incredibly realistic.

As she grew older, her vision indeed grew weaker and soon had vanished. Oriana was miserable, longing for something beyond the darkness, missing the colours of the world. Having to adjust to her new life without sight, she truly did feel useless and that she was really a huge burden. It was awful for her. Painting would now be near impossible for her and her first love was to be lost to her. She mourned the loss of her sight, wondering why in the deities the world would curse her to such a fate.

Over time, she adapted to a world without sight, using her other senses to help her in her daily routine. At first, that routine only consisted of eating, being miserable and sleeping. She hardly left her den. Eventually, a friend of hers grew concerned about her mental health and convinced Oriana to trying and take up painting once again. Complying, not wanting for her friend to worry about her, she took her painting materials, which she had long discarded to a corner of her den, and started trying to paint. Her friend gave encouragement throughout the project. Upon finishing the painting, she asked her friend how it looked. Of course they tried to lie to her at first but she knew they were lying and forced the truth out of them. It was pretty poor compared to before she lost her sight but it still retained parts of what it once may have been when she could see, at least that's what they told her.

Feeling encouraged, she once again took up painting, reteaching herself to paint without sight, just as she had retaught herself everything else. It was a lengthy process and she had no way to tell her progress other then what her friend and other dragons told her. Eventually, she reached a point where she felt her art was good and was confident in her abilities despite her disability. Deciding to leave her birth clan, she set off, following her senses, searching for a new home.

After a while, she reached a place within the Ashfall Waste, which she could tell because of the blazing heat of the volcano, that gave off a really strange vibe. Unable to place it, she decided to linger and try to figure it out. Unknowingly, she wandered past a barrier of mist and ended up inside Storm clan territory. There she met Terhenetar and was introduced to Lord Iceflame and allowed to join the clan.
