Biography

As you meet the dragons of the lair, a light green and yellow Skydancer lifts his head and turns to face your way. "Ah, hello, and welcome to the SkyWings clan," he says, in a warm, soothing voice, and goes to introduce himself...

Say hello to Gabrian, the Welcomer Dragon, one of the first Dragons Cascade/I purchased shortly after joining the game, and also the clan's first Skydancer!

Name:
Pronunciation of name:
gayb-bree-ehn, like how you say the letter n :D
Nickname:
He also goes by Gabe, for a shortened version of his name

Personality:
Gabrian is a kind, sweet, understanding soul who loves to reach out to others and his greatest joy is welcoming others and making them feel included. This plays in perfectly with his Role (see below) and also with his family situation (see below) and everyone in the clan loves him for his loving nature. He's glad to have joined the SkyWings clan even though he came in through the Auction House, and is not a Wind Dragon himself, that didn't stop the small forming clan from being kind and welcoming to the first Skydancer. He's been so glad ever since that he was picked to come live here, and shows that joy through his work in the clan.
some fun little quirks about him, as suggested by KoenigVII from this post in the 'Quirks about the dragon above you' forum thread--> https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/forga/2334297/240#post_54271501

Family:
Gabrian came from a family of 3 and arrived at the clan when he was already fully grown. Nearly a year older than the few that were in the newly-forming clan he'd just joined, he felt like the elder around them, although Valen seemed to have an old-soul kind of an attitude, and GoldSong also seemed to be lacking the newness about her that most progens had when they first began. As he learned more about the dragons that just bought him & welcomed him here, he found out why, and realized the explanation. As he worked with them to form the clan that was still growing, he saw the way that Valen & GoldSong got along so well, he began to feel a longing in himself to share that same kind of companionship with someone and a loneliness settled over him. Since the clan was still forming, rather small at the time, and there weren't that many available girls around, he decided to poke his head in the Auction House himself and see what he could find, and to see if there were any dergs there that caught his eye. He spotted an Imperial floating in a stall, with a price listed and thus proceeded to plunk down some treasure. She came home to the lair that night, but told the dragons that she also had a sister and wouldn't leave her behind, so Gabrian understood, went back to the stall, found her sister, handed over the treasure, and from that moment on, the very first Imperials joined the clan.
He took time to get to know both of them, but found that his feelings for the first Imperial he saw only grew the more and more time they spent together, and discovered that her sister was a bit more reckless and had a tough personality that he didn't like. After a time of the first Imp, Erigore, finding her place in the clan and setting up her school, she found that she too had a liking for Gabrian and at that, they started seeing more and more of each other. Until that seeing of each other led to wedding bells... they couldn't be happier, however, and are glad to have found each other and he's happy he found love with his beautiful wife and lovely family. Neither dragon would leave each other for all the riches of the world. A short time after the ceremony, the happy couple welcomed into the world their wonderful children, CranberryGem, DuskFall, and Cornucopia. They raised their hatchlings and watched them blossom and find their places in the clan and also watched as they each found a mate of their own and each started their own families. CranberryGem, however, even after being with Moriah and having some children of his own, felt that he had a higher calling in the world, and thus left the lair to serve Exalted under Windsinger. DuskFall, his brother, took up where he left off and wedded the Gaurdian Cranberry left behind, and also brought in some hatchlings through her, and now Gabe loves to see the kids every chance he gets.

With life going happily and things in the clan going swell, Gabrian was having a very good time with his Role & his lovely wife. However, one busy night threatened to change all of that.....
He had had a busy week being the welcoming gent he was and showing newcomers around the clan, and on a slow night, he was ready to relax. He thought Erigore was at home, having finished with school for the day, and was looking forward to a nice, calming, romantic evening with her. She'd left a note saying she was planning a surprise, and he was excited to see what it could be. When he got home, he found the lights were low and an enticing scent wafted through the rooms. This was quite surprising for Eri hadn't done much of anything like this before, but as he was tired, he didn't think much of it, and wandered to the kitchen where the aroma seemed to be coming from. He saw the Imperial at the table, filling cups from a elaborate-looking decanter, and she brightened in her warm way when she saw him enter. The meal continued and as he consumed the items, he began to feel more and more tired.. and more & more willing to do whatever the Imperial wanted, seeming to lose his inhibitions and perceptiveness of the situation. But this was Eri, right? Totally something she would do.. And he was just tired from the extra work from this week. That was all.. right..?
As the night went on, he felt himself slipping more and more to the will of the Imperial before him, losing more and more rational thought, though something kept nagging at him that this was not his wife...and something wasn't right. But being in her arms after the meal and as close as she was after they'd retired for the night felt just like Eri so he wondered what was wrong and what was causing the faint alarm bells to go off in his head.. It was a wonderful night, or so he thought, and when he drifted off happily to sleep afterwards, he didn't notice the Imperial slip out of the room and steal away to the place she belonged, sighing blissfully to herself on the way.....
But a few days later, when word got out Artianna had had a clutch of eggs that hatched, he & others in the clan began to wonder where she had gotten those hatchlings since she was married, but her husband was not a Skydancer, since they were Skydancers. Upon closer inspection, it was also questionable since the hatchlings seemed to share some of his genes... With this reveal, Artianna approached them and told them the whole story, feeling guilty & terrible for what she'd done, and told them that that night had not been spent with Eri but rather with her, and she had tricked all of them just so she could get the Skydancer to herself. For she too had strong feelings for him and was jealous of her sister and wanted what she had, and felt envious. But the Imp learned the hard way that two wrongs don't make a right.. Erigore & Gabrian were shocked to find out the truth, but they weren't too harsh on her, even though her actions did deeply hurt the couple and made it hard for them to trust her again. At the reveal, and seeing the faces of his new children, it all came crashing back to Gabrian as well that the hints he was seeing, though his mind was getting more and more foggy throughout that night, were right and he realized that that indeed truly was not his wife, and he felt awful as well, seeking out the forgiveness of his beloved wife. She did forgive him after a time, and it strengthened their bond as well, as they did other romantic things together and had deep talks about it all and they promised to never let anything like that happen again...
After it was all smoothed over, Art & Gabe worked together to raise the hatchlings, since they were partly his, after all, and also worked to welcome the children in to their families. Even with Artianna already being wed, her husband also took in the children as his own, and though the situation might've been weird to begin with, the two Skydancer girls, SunsetPoison & NightSong, grew up ok & turned out all right, even with the interesting dynamic of the families :) And even though it was a mistake that brought them into the world, Gabe and Art & and their mates have gladly taken the girls in with open arms, and he enjoys spending time with them, reinforcing to them that they are not mistakes and are meant to be in the clan and the world despite the occurrences that brought about their existence :D
Update: As time went on, word got out about the mixed family and the mishap that brought it about and basically the whole clan got to know about the event. With this in mind, Gabrian & his wife deiced to set the record straight & put to rest any rumors that might've been floating around, and breed once more :) They waited anxiously for their new children to arrive, and when they finally hatched, Gabrian & Erigore were more than ecstatic to meet them, their two new daughters, IceBerry & DuskDance. He enjoys the journey of fatherhood again, and feels as though having hatchlings around once more has helped to make him feel young again. Him & his wife love seeing them grow & enjoy watching the two girls make connections & find their place in the clan :) When the two girls grew up, however, they felt as though they didn't fit here and left the clan to try & find somewhere else that they might belong. Both found wonderful clans, then decided to help the clans where they landed by serving under their reigning deity, the Lightweaver. Gabrian, upon hearing this, became proud once more that two more of his amazing children were helping to better the world of Sorneith and keep it free of The Shade.
Gabiran, while welcoming in many-a-dragon who has come to the clan since he has joined, has never really had quite the bond like he does with Galadrain. For some reason, over time, one of the newer Skydancers who has joined the clan has seemed to click with Gabe better than most, and they get along quite well, and now they share something akin to that of a father-son relationship, and Gabe has happily taken the Skydancer in under his wing, glad to fill a father-like role for the dragon.
Training in the coliseum one time, a Leafy Moth decided to follow him home and since then they worked on getting close and creating a wonderful bond. One day, however, Vrenn, Gabrian's previous Familiar, was awakened and reached his full potential. Achieving this focal point in their lives, Vrenn wanted to see what else was out there, and though he enjoyed his time with Gabrian, he was ready to move on. Gabrian, wanting to have another companion, however, took a visit to the Marketplace and chose the current one he has now, the Everglade Lasher, known as Kurk. :)

Role in the clan:
Gabrian's role in the SkyWings clan is the Welcome Dragon! This means his task is to welcome outsiders who arrive either how he was made part of the clan through the Auction House or traded/given to Cascade by other players. Since he himself came in through an outside means, he helps to make new Dragons feel at home within the SkyWings clan. He is also a good judge of character and when Cascade goes to the AH looking for new Dragons to add to the clan, she often asks his opinion on whichever Dragons catch her eye. Being a Skydancer, he can also tell about a Dragon through his gem and this has proven very useful.
Though he hails from Arcane, he feels that the Role of Magic Representative should be taken up by someone else, and so he's leaving it open for another Dragon...

Exalting Gabrian to the service of the Windsinger will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
