She found out her gift for crystal sorcery when she was a hatchling; she had wished really hard for one of her big rocks to turn into a purple crystal, and it did! She ran to her mother, Hortense, and bounced as she happily chirped "Mommy mommy look what I did!" and showed the shimmering crystal.
