Not soon after the founding of the town, a Plague clan came to Triptych for shelter. A devastating illness had swept through their people, leaving the survivors weak and vulnerable to attack from enemies. With nowhere to go, they wandered until fate brought them to the town's borders. They were welcome with open arms, with founder One personally overseeing their incorporation into the town. Though inhabited by folks of all background in modern times, it is still referred to as the Plague District in honor of the original refugees.

Tradition holds that the town's Plague representative comes from the district. Bacteria is the current representative. She is actually a distant ancestor of founder One. In addition to her duties as representative, she serves as a priestess, overseeing many rituals performed by those still following traditional Plague spiritual practices.
