______ Where other dragons fear ghosts and other restless dead, Ophelia is keen to meet them and hear what they might have to say. Born upon the Rotrock Rim, overlooking the Wyrmwound, she could hear the whispers of the dead from a young age, and learned to commune with them that she could befriend them and keep her clan safe from their wrath. Her skills as a spirit medium proved valuable when her clan went to war with a rival clan over territory; many spirits came to their aid by possessing the trees and tendrils in the surrounding environment. However, Ophelia herself had little fighting ability, and in the heat of battle, she was attacked by a pack of Mirror warriors and thrown into the Wyrmwound below.

______ Managing to drift to shore, Ophelia could hardly believe she had survived--or that she hadn't been twisted into some horrific monstrosity. Knowing she could not return to her own clan for fear of having been infected with some deadly plague, she set out to find a suitable creature to offer to the Plaguebringer as a sacrifice in exchange for a cure. On the western shores, she happened to stumble across a kindly healer--Reine, who had come with her mate Kishnu to visit his birth clan. The coatl couple tended to Ophelia and cleaned her wounds, inviting her to return with them to their clan in the Starfall Isles, and Ophelia found herself curious about what spirits and restless dead lurked in the Arcanist's magic-infused lands. Although in her new clan, fighting to survive is much less an issue, she still communes with ghosts and ancestor spirits to ask for their boon and their friendship.
