"I must prove that I can handle myself without the coddling of my family. " Prologue: Early Life: Ranzeto always had a wealthy life in a very wealthy family, in his early years he was just another rich spoiled brat that had anything he desired! He was pretty much hated by the other kids for he was rather arrogant most of the time and he wished only to show off his shiny things. But this easy life would come to an end, for when he was just entering his pre-teen age his powers manifested. Ranzeto has this hability to find out if someone is lying or not, not because of guessing or reading one's body language, but because Light magic flows through him and the words "liar" or "not liar" comes out of his mouth without control. That brought a lot of trouble at home, his parents got very concerned after Ranzeto got beaten up by another kid because of his powers. They did what most parents would do: Lock him in his house until he was able to control his skills. The best thing he was able to do was to cover his eyes for somehow he found out that looking at a person would trigger his skills. He grew up surrounded only by his close family and a handful of friends who would pay a visit now and then. __________________________ Running Away: Growing up was very hard for him, Ranzeto's life was full of rules and limitations, his parents were very scared of what consequences his powers could bring to him. As much as he loved his close family he knew that this life was very tough for him. His charge never came and Ranzeto started to feel it was due to his isolation. One night, while his family was asleep, he wrote down a letter saying that he had to leave, that his charge could be anywhere out there and he was missing it by staying at home. Ranzeto was ready to see the outside world. Dragonhome was his first choice, for no reason other than curiosity, he had books about it's monuments and he wanted to finally see them! He wandered alone in Earth's territory for a few weeks before feeling the need to find a clan for himself. The Pedraviva Clan was known as a sanctuary, so he did not waste time and rushed to the ruins and joined in. After he settled down in the clan he started sending letters home to make sure his parents knew he's fine. ___________________________ Personality and Skills: Extrovert, but a bit insecure, that's Ranzeto. He loves to be around people and listen to their conversations! Never starting any though because he's scared others won't listen or that his words will not be interesting enough to be made into a topic. This is a guardian that will rather talk to the same people over and over than making new friends, even if the thought of it makes him excited, the fear of rejection will always be there to slow him down. He needs a small preparation before trying out a new friendship. Ranzeto feels very comfortable with non judgmental folks, laid back types or those who naturally avoid arguments. He's all about nice and easy topics, like the weather, tea or critters...He hates talking about his powers or politcs. Speaking of powers, as explained before, they work through eye contact. If he looks at a person while they're saying something, Ranzeto will be able to tell if they're telling the truth or not. He's slowly learning how to turn it off for a short period of time, right now, 30 minutes every 2 hours is all he was able to achieve. He uses this time in a very wise way...he takes walks outside! ___________________________ Living in the sanctuary was very good for his mental health, specially because his powers were put into good use. He helps judging the bandits that sometimes invade the ruins. ___________________________ |
