Biography
The Seventy-Fourth Arcane Hunger Games
It was a unique games - Normally, the clan would pick a dragon, come to a decision. Or, well, Albus and Hekat were the main players in that, but the whole clan was welcome to pitch in and volunteer if they found themselves best suited for the week's theme. But this was different. Unexpected. Random. Phobos never considered himself a fighter - He'd never placed a claw in the arena, preferring his quiet meditation and mage studies.
But when he was called, he had to go.
The very first day, Phobos witnessed a cruelty he'd heard only exaggerated retellings of from Scratch - A dragon being pressured to kill Phobos or another, refusing, and being killed himself. It was with that that Phobos realized the gravity of what he had been called to. He wept, but steeled his resolve and worked with others, always cooperative but keeping in mind that only a single victor would rise.
His first kill was - well, it wasn't an accident. Tracker Jackers came for them, and Phobos dug his claws into a skydancer he'd been traveling with and forced him to the ground, running as the insects swarmed, taking out a competitor.
In a moment of what almost looked to be guilt, that night Phobos tended to the wounds of a guardian named Marshal, keeping quiet about what he'd done. But it was not enough - he died the next morning, and Phobos will not speak of whether it was intentional.
A few nights later, as the arena thins out, Phobos makes a truce with a mirror named Stahl, but come morning he is armed with a blade and the fight is vicious, the wounded dragon off a cliff, wings too torn to save herself in time.
Cleaned of blood, Phobos humbly takes up position with the final two competitors, working out a truce for the night - But come morning, when they realize they are the only ones left alive, Phobos turns. The fight is exhausting, the days of the arena wearing on his vitality, but his competitors are equally battered, and Phobos is triumphant.
The first dragon of the clan to take victory - A high honor. When the stats were released, it became clear that Phobos was victor for a reason - he'd taken 4 lives, more than anyone else in the arena during those games.
The Third Quarter Quell.
