"Mereth! Again?" Lapis, the den mother, scolded.. Mereth scuttled past Alma, who had came in into the small den shortly after she heard the commotion. "What now?" Alma said with a gentle laugh, as Mereth cuddled up against the sweet Tundra. "She broke another urn... The fifth one this week! Such trouble for a Selling..." She huffed, causing Mereth to curl tighter against Alma's comforting warm fur. She whined loudly, causing several of the other hatchlings to look her way. "Well, Lapis.. This place is meant for children.. I'd think it would be obvious breakable objects and pups do not mix." She said with an easy smile. Lapis growled... "Yes, Alma.." Lapis turned to watch over the other hatchlings who were startled awake from their noon nap. Lapis knew Alma was right, but she was still fairly irritated with Mereth. Alma grinned at Mereth, who was still tucked tightly against her, before she nosed her away. However, before Mereth could drag herself back to the other hatchlings, Alma picked her up. With a tiny cry, she looked around wildly, confused. She had never been outside the den before.. Once they were away from the den, Alma set Mereth down before walking off. Mereth opened her mouth, and closed it.. Repeating this process, she was unable to speak, and simply gave up.. She started to wander around the lair.. And noticed large dragons resting about... She squeaked loudly when a huge maize dragon started her way. She started to scramble away, but her stubby legs were no match for the large dragon. He appeared to have a rather large nose.. but after further inspection, it was a horn. She sat under his gaze, shaking in fear. Opal, the Ridgeback, simply stared at the tiny Skydancer for a moment before he grinned. Mereth yelped, and sprawled against the floor. Though Opal meant well, his smile wasn't the prettiest.. "Ah, don't worry little one.. Alma took you out of the den, didn't she? How rude to just leave you..." He came closer to her nosing her, "You appear to be Charm's kid... Hmm.." He pulled back. He knew that this small basic skydancer was to be sold, and shouldn't meet their parents but.... "I'll take you to him," Opal said smiling contently. Though Mereth had always been curious about her parents, she was still afraid this gigantic dragon would gobble her up. Soft pattering could be heard, coming closer.. "Hey, Opal! Aren't you supposed to be outside?" She frowned, yet to notice the small skydancer, in awe of her beauty. "Ah, yes, Prussia, but I found this hatchling out of the den and--" Prussia cut him off, "Dear Plague.. It's you.." She sneered briefly, "Mistake." Mereth whined and backed away from the two dragons. "Prussia! Uncalled for.." Opal cried, but Prussia merely shrugged. "It's true enough." Suddenly, a pink dragon started making their way towards the three.. "How rude, to throw a party without me.." He said with a grin, making Opal and Prussia look uneasy. "My, what do we have here?" He asked, leaning down to get to eye level with the hatchling. "Oh, how nice to have a new member." Alma stepped forth, seemingly out of no where, "Exactly what I thought." Alma smiled at Mereth, which caused her to relax a little. Prussia bit back a huff, before she walked off. The others didn't pay her any mind, in fact Opal was delighted to hear the news. "How wonderful! It's nice to have someone new." He exclaimed, and nosed her again. "I'm glad to know we won't be seeing you go soon." He said with a wink, before he started to turn away. He had to get back to his duties, but this was a wondrous break. Mereth turned back to the pink dragon, and looked at him questioningly. He sat down, and booped her nose, "Got ya, sweet heart." He said, before he stood again, starting to walk off. He whispered something to Alma as he passed her, in which she nodded in response. Alma took place beside Mereth again, causing the little hatchling to curl up against her, "Welcome, Mereth."
