T I M E L E S S

Kami had never known
a day. Never a second or a moment; a week to
her could pass as quickly as a minute. An hour
as slow as a year. The concept of time was
simple but foreign.

When something occurred it was not sudden
or of surprise. Once it is it always had been.
There was no place for grief or spontaneous
joy. The loss of a loved one did not come
suddenly or in the blink of an eye. If they had
been gone a second would be no different than
a year or ten or a thousand. The return of a long
lost friend would bring mild happiness, for upon
their return it would be as though they had never left.

She existed outside the realm of time.
