Gale's Thoughts: Xander

I'll admit to not being very close with Xander, but the more I hear about him from everyone else, I kind of wish I was. Apparently he has a small bookshop on the far borders of The Withered Village that he built all by himself and didn't tell anyone about until it was done? Nadia's in there quite a bit, and she says it smells like "home-cooked books," which I can only imagine is a good thing.

I also figured out that he was actually born in our brother clan (He's Mohini's son! I really need to send her a letter, it's been far too long), back when they still lived in the Hewn City, but found Paradise after he struck out on his own and ended up back here when she was getting ready to have their first children.

I think he's the reason they both stayed, if I'm being honest. All of Paradise's other family is far, far away from here, and she's so close with them that I wonder if she's only still here because of Xander and the kids.

Maybe I'll try to chat him up at the next clan bonfire. See if he's got any good stories.

Baseline Stats





While everyone seems to like Xander just fine, he's very quiet and his personality will likely never be one most dragons would single out in a crowd. He's a quiet one, but an affable one, by all accounts.



I honestly don't know what his combat abilities are like, but I'm sure he and Paradise are probably on a similar level. Whether he's had any sort of formal training, I couldn't say.



If there's one thing I know from Paradise's gushing about her husband and can infer from his profession, it's that Xander is a smart cookie. I might even be underselling him a bit, quite honestly, since I am still woefully not well acquainted with him.



Again, I'm throwing pebbles at a roc here, but I figure landing a dragon as sweet as Paradise makes Xander some kind of lucky.



One thing I have noticed about Xander, I suppose, is that he doesn't seem very in-tune with his magic? For being a skydancer, he doesn't seem to rely on it hardly ever. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but from what little I can gather he's not competent beyond the most basic natural-born skydancer affinity for emotions. Maybe it's something he and Paradise bonded over?



He's had no real major medical issues in his time here, and aside from having slight vision problems and the achiness that comes with aging, he's in pretty good health, I think. He's definitely not run into as many complications as his mate, I can say that much.
