——-
Reda, as the only surviving hatchling of Ausha and Dak’s clutch, is on track to inherit the clan from her parents. With her training and experiences on the council, she hopes to prove herself worthy of the position. However, until that day comes, Reda functions as the clan overseer, making sure everyone is doing what they’re supposed to be doing. Some dragons resent being told what to do by a dam so young, but well, they don't really have a say in the matter.
- Hatchling Biography -
Ausha and Dak had planned to wait till later in their life before attempting to produce offspring, but well, things happened. They managed a nest of four eggs, but once they hatched, only one survived: Reda, the youngest.Though the deaths of the other hatchlings devastated the couple, Reda’s survival alleviated their guilt, even if by only a little.
As a hatchling, Reda was very much like her mother. Displaying a wild recklessness and a need to explore her surroundings, she yearned to find, to quest, to achieve. With these tendencies, despite how useful they would be when she got older, meant that she needed to be watched at all times. She would chew on anything she managed to sink her teeth into and attempted to climb things that she deemed “cool looking.”
She was a very...trying hatchling to keep track of at times.
Of course, once the clan formed, and with the other’s help, it was easier to keep an eye on her.
- Adolescent Biography -
As she grew, Reda became a more even balance of her parent’s personality traits, though her temper is purely from her mother. While her recklessness never truly went away, it was tamed somewhat by her newly gained logical approach and desire to understand how things work. Both Ausha and Dak are grateful for her newfound balance within herself, as it will be necessary for her to succeed as a leader when she inherits her parents’ responsibilities. She has mixed emotions on the matter.
However, she still has time because for now, she is just the chief-in-training with a spot on the council as the overseer. She thinks the title is rather ridiculous considering Tiakken kind of already has her job covered.
But her parents insist that having a high ranking position will help her understand the responsibilities of leading a clan, so she doesn’t argue. Besides, it’s nice to be able to ask the pearlcatcher questions instead of her parents. They mean well, but they can be a bit overbearing at times, which Pleo says is normal for parents, but that doesn’t mean she has to like it.
She’s thankful though, for all that her parents have done for her.
She also appreciates the other council members and the fact that they don’t treat her like a hatchling, though she doesn’t mind when Pleo does it because Pleo is like that with everyone. Still, she’s determined to prove herself to her parents and the clan and when the time comes, she’ll be a good leader.
But Reda still has a ways to go before she’s ready.
She is well liked and generally trusted, but she has a couple of personal issues with certain members of the clan that inhibit her ability to treat them impartially. This is something her parents have tried to talk to her about and work through with her but, well, Reda can be stubborn and refuses to acknowledge her parents’ opinions on the matter.
It’s caused a lot of tension between the three, which has made things a little harder on the clan, but the council is doing what it can to keep everything running as smoothly as possible.
Reda doesn’t hate her parents though, she loves them dearly and while she worries that she won’t live up to their expectations as leader, she hopes that she’ll at least be decent at it.
For everyone’s sake.
- Familiar Biography -
Ferox actually tried to kill Reda the first time they met, but after realizing that he'd met a worthy opponent, the parda offered himself and services as a show of respect. He informed her that he'd been on his own for a long time and that he'd grown tired of listlessly wandering. He'd promised himself that if he ever met someone worthy, he'd give them his loyalty. Reda, though surprised and a bit confused, accepted and the two grow closer every day.
- Additional Notes -
➤ Reda's pet python is named Emery.
➤ Tiakken is a sort of older brother figure to Reda and she often goes to the pearlcatcher with her more private matters.
➤ As of now, Reda does not have a charge nor has she felt the need to look for one. Her parents hope that should she leave, it will not affect her loyalty to the clan or her role as the heir.
