Children of the Arena Through the Arcane magic and the assistance of her two most loyal minions, the Bloodsport Goddess created personifications of the Arena's most notable items and events as dragons of Sornieth. These strange entities have personalities and abilities representative of their Arena counterparts. This dragon is one such representation. Lore Nature takes odd turns in the Arena, but no turn is more deadly than the Mutts. Several Arena Events utilize the Mutts to hunt down tributes and make Bloodsport's already-difficult conditions even more treacherous. With everything to consider, the last thing first-time tributes expect to see in the Arena is a predatory rodent. Arguably the most surprising form of Mutt, carnivorous squirrels have a tendency to form swarming scurries to take down even the deadliest tributes. Like her namesake, this tribute often appears where she's least expected. Though she's usually simply skittering about, looking for a stray bit of food or a tree to climb, it's never wise to underestimate her. She always seems to have several allies around, ready to swarm and overwhelm anyone unfortunate enough to stoke her ire. Despite this, she's usually quite cowardly and more likely to run away than engage in one-on-one combat. Within Clan Alys, not much is widely known about Squirrel. Even the all-knowing Thalia has little gossip on her. However, this is hardly due to Thalia’s negligence. No, this is because Squirrel cut a deal with Thalia, agreeing to gather some information for Thalia in exchange for Thalia not spreading Squirrel’s secrets . What most dragons in Clan Alys can tell you is that Squirrel often lives up to her namesake, seen often in trees, gathering nuts, or chittering with actual squirrels. Students can tell you that “I swear, she’s always on Rasputin’s desk.” Neither group is completely right. In what Rasputin and Molotov will always hold was a fit of madness, Squirrel willingly tested Ochre’s prototype teleportation device, creating what Ochre has termed an “occasional clone” of herself. At random times, Squirrel will split into two identical entities, one of which will find squirrels to chat with, and one of which will relax on Rasputin’s desk. No students or clan members have figured this out yet, because who would think that she could actually be in two places at once? Carnivorous Squirrel and Rasputin are life mates. Squirrel often uses Rasputin’s desk as a primetime napping spot. |
