B I O G R A P H Y

Andraste comes from a family of dominance fighters. Her father was the main drive of their family's spark for serving the gods. He trained his offspring with his mate for their eventual exaltation. From combat to education to manners, he tried to cram as much useful knowledge into their heads as possible. Little Andraste couldn't care less that she had to wrap her tail around her talons when seated to show meekness or that the first god to come into existence was the Earthshaker. However, she loved combat training, and she was good at it, too.

As she grew, she set herself apart from her siblings. While not being particularly large, she was a terror on the battlefield, using her cunning and every muscle in her body to win fights. However, her siblings could win fights just as well as she could. What was impressive was her ability to impart her knowledge to other dragons. When her father noticed it, he encouraged her to continue teaching the young in their clan.

After a few more months of instructing her clanmates, it was time for Andraste and her siblings to leave the nest. Her father knew that she was destined for greatness, beyond what a normal exalted dragon could do, and told her to not serve a god. She could do much more good for them without directly assisting in their daily lives.

After leaving her clan, she spent a few months wandering and becoming near famous by taking on apprentices to send to the gods. One day, as she was passing through an Ice town, she heard of a powerful, old clan that was undergoing a change to be more militaristic, and instantly her interest was piqued. She traveled to the clan and was delighted to find that they were in need of someone with her set of skills. She convinced the new leader, Sara, to take her in.

Andraste quickly forged a name for herself in Clan Frostwalker. She became known for her harsh training tactics, most of her trainees sticking around for less than a day before she sends them off to a deity to serve. In the course of a few hours, she breaks dragons down, molds them into soldiers, and creates them to be more agile, stronger and smarter fighters. Although her harsh ways scare off many dragons, that has always been her intention. She wants to waste no time teaching the fearful or weak. She is training dragons for the gods, after all.

____Up, Ascendants!" Andraste roared at the dragons on the ground before her, groaning as they nursed their fresh wounds. "I thought I was working with warriors, not kittens!"

____To this comment, most dragons just avoided her gaze silently. Some even fled from the scene. But her attitude remained unchanged as she stood there, reprimanding them and questioning how not one dragon out of their thirty could take her down. More and more left their group, throwing angry glances back at the fierce Wildclaw as she shouted at those remaining.

____Finally, the flow of dropouts slowed, and then ceased all together. She scolded the dragons in front of her just to be sure, but as all of them met her fiery gaze with their own, she conceded that this was her training group for the next few hours.

____Alright," she said, surveying the nine remaining dragons. "More than usual." She grinned at them. "Now, the real training begins."

_ASCENDANTS_

____Andraste truly believes that exalting is the highest honor a dragon can receive. While she isn't called to serve the Icewarden in that way, she takes great pride in enabling other dragons to. During the brief times the trainers are under her control, she trains as many as they can handle to send off to various deities. She also makes sure the majority are under her watch for mere hours, wary of sharing the clan's food supplies. After these contested battles are over, she enjoys collecting the honors and badges given out to the dedicated few.

____While every dragon has a name, Andraste doesn't care. When they enter Clan Frostwalker, she only addresses them as Ascendant. When they are sent out to serve another clan's deity, they are sent off as Ascendants. As she believes, the deities have no times for names. Only the strongest may ascend to their ranks, so she makes them strong. While none of these dragons have ever been seen again, she enjoys believing the idea that her Ascendants are loyally serving the deities on the front lines.
