...Early Life. Helo was born amongst the Light dragons, back then he went by another name. In his youth, Helo was known as George. His father was a lightbulb merchant, while his mother could not find work. The two had trouble making ends meet and sent Helo's elder twin brother away to work for the Stormcatcher. Unbeknownst to Helo however, his mother and father owed huge sums of coins and gems to the Lightweaver. Usually kind and benevolent, the Lightweaver gave his parents a way to clear the debt between them. In secret Helo was promised to the Lightweaver to serve her upon the exalted plains, his parents agreed to these terms. And planned to send their last son on his way that instant. Little did they know young Helo had been listening to their conversation. and fled that night. The young Dragon found a Lightning ship that was leaving that very night for the Shifting Expanse. He asked for passage in return for labour. The Captain of the vessel, A stern imperial dragon Janeway warned him that work abroad a lightning trapper was hard. Nether the less he agreed and so. When asked for his name he pondered for a moment, nearly declaring himself George. "My name is Helo..." ...Life On Voyager Captain Janeway had not lied when she told Helo the work on voyager was hard. Luckily for the growing Snapper, he seemed well suited to the task and was soon outstripping the most seasoned of lightning catchers on their quota's. They often visited the clan to which the Voyager, and subsequently Helo belonged. When in port he found he had no place to lodge, fortunately, a gentleman of the court by the name of Monty had no heirs, and was looking for a child to adopt. While on land Helo stayed with his new father. But he longed for the months when the Voyager would set sail into a storm, to collect Lightning. One day two new hatchlings arrived in the clan, they were Boomer and Valerii, half brother of the Voyager's first officer Chakotay. The two soon grew into fine Dragons, Boomer became the new Navigator. While Valerii helmed the ship. During down time on the ship Valerii and Helo became friends, playing cards and gossiping about the goings on aboard the ship and the shenanigans of the other crew. It wasn't long before the two became the subject of much gossip themselves... |
