Evil, Good, Neutral, they all have their place and he sees them all eventually in one form or the other. Demons fear him, angel count him a some times allied, dragon don't know what he truly is, a guide, protector, confidant, comfort, DeathEater is often the last drake a dragon sees before they join their deity when they pass on. DeathEater is what some call a reaper although his kind have no real name, Reapers are a close cousin to what he is and often work with his kind.
DeathEater has always been a guide, moving through the dark places between life and death with a ease that came from millennia of practice and experience, the dark places were his home, but soon he grew lonely. Listening to old dragons talk about their clans and families and the bonds they formed with each other as he lead them to their resting place made the other feel... alone; who was there to show him friendship? The adult spirits he lead on their path were hardly friends of his, the hatchlings were more scared than anything else.

The coatl had no memories of his life, if he had indeed had a life before, and so had no memories of clan, mate, hatchlings, or parents and often wondered if he had always been as he is. His questions took him no where and while interesting to ponder when he had a free moment often lead to more questions than he had the answers for and soon lead to frustration. This doesn't affect his reaction to those he guides and the answers he gives to them, putting fears to rest and keeping them on the right path to where ever they need to go.
He tried to keep his own curiosities to himself and was successful at keeping them away from those in his charge, finding that although dragons still feared death he could ease some of their worries even if guiding the hatchlings he came across was difficult. He found it didn't get easier tp lead such young dragons as time went on, they often asked questions that he had no satisfactory answer to.

When the coatl made his way to a clan he found his interest peaked and chose to join the clan on a temporary basis, curiosity made him want to seek out dragons for company and maybe teach them about what he was and see if his knowledge helped ease their fears. His problem was he had no honest idea how to interact in a clan, he had always dealt with the dead one on one or in very small groups. DeathEater found a kindly female who helped him get settled into her clan and he found his place among them, defending the clan when he wasn't leading spirits to their final place.

The spiral and he grew close and soon had a nest of two eggs, doting on mate and eggs seemed the most normal thing to him as they waited excitedly for their little ones to hatched. When the eggs hatched and two lovely little hatchlings came into the world the new parents were ecstatic until one of them, Cherryblossom, got sick and eventually passed on. Leading his daughter through the darkness was the hardest thing he had ever done and he took her to the Tidelord himself, wanting to make sure she arrived safe and wanting a word with Water's god, he feared no retribution from the Eleven when it came to his hatchlings.
Going back to his clan alone was hard and finding he and his mate couldn't look each other in the eye anymore was a hard blow. She didn't blame him for doing his job, but the loss still hit hard, when their son had grown and left the two parted company on decent terms; DeathEater stayed with the clan although he was reluctant to claim any as close friends. Soon he found he was alone again, but this time it was his own choice.

Meeting a imperial female, Bloody Mary, he was cautious of her although she seemed happy enough to be friends. After awhile friends turned into more and they had several nests together, when one passed soon after hatching DeathEater prepared for the past to repeat, what Bloody Mary didn't react the way he thought she would he was happy. Having a mate didn't stop him from doing his job as a guide for the dead, in fact he was more understanding of the grief the dead felt and often mourned with them for their loss. DeathEater still guides those who have passed on and answers their questions and protects them from what lies in wait in the dark places, but he understands the ties they had and the reluctance they have to give those up.
