Biography
When it came to alchemy, Polycarp was no stranger to experimentation. She would often combine unconventional ingredients to see if they would produce anything interesting--unsurprisingly, the majority of the time, they did not.
Once after a disastrous brew that produced a highly toxic sludge with noxious fumes that made her quite sick, she racked through her notebook and furiously scribbled down this horrendous recipe. But as she went to shove the notebook back into the cluttered bookshelf, she noticed a very old notebook lodged on the very edge. It was her old alchemy notebook, back when she was still learning to brew. She had gotten it signed from the master of alchemy himself, Baldwin. He even added a few pages, giving her some tips and tricks.
And a few highly advanced recipes that she had all but forgotten about.
Polycarp remembered that back then, the recipes were far too complex for her to understand, no less attempt. But now...
She scurried back over to the cauldron to start a new brew, her confidence suddenly surging through her once again.
After several hours of carefully following Baldwin's instructions, she finally collapsed into her favorite chair and smiled. Her brew was complete--and it had come out perfectly, if she did say so herself.
As the egg cracked open and a beautiful blue bogsneak with deep purple eyes emerged, Polycarp made a mental note to send Baldwin a thank-you note, along with some of Angela's famous lair-made cookies.
