Biography

Brimstone fully embraces her status as an ex-cult member, formerly devoted to a ruthless dragoness by the name of Mother, who (like most cult leaders) presumed herself a deity. She was originally betrothed to the cult’s enforcer, called Merric, whose hunger for power and violence rivaled that of his leader’s—a status she loathed. Brimstone was originally sent to the Water territories from the cult’s home in the Arcanist’s lands. The cult lived in a clan that had allied itself with Clan Tigres Jumeaux, and Mother wanted to take advantage of the strange Sea clan’s numbers as an opportunity for recruitment. Thus, Brimstone was sent away…

…and she was not keen to return, after bearing witness to a somewhat functional clan. Not without secrets, of course, there are no clans without secrets…but there were no bloodthirsty cults here. However, even if she had wanted to return, she could not—Mother made a move against her home clan and was expelled, and her home clan fled the Starwood Strand for a home nearby in the Sea.

Brimstone is now most often found in the Inn attached to the Tipped Tavern. For a long time, she had no formal title and merely helped with the books and with housekeeping. In exchange, Tippy and Meridian allowed her to operate a refuge within the walls of the inn for those attempting to escape dangerous situations, be it abuse, pursuit by mercenaries, vicious clans, cults…Brimstone has the personal experience to be empathetic, and the teeth to be protective.

Brimstone proved to be quite the hostess, and her familiarity with the inn made her a perfect candidate for management. Tippy prefers to work more on the tavern side, and Meridian is quite content with his role keeping the peace. And thus, Brimstone was promoted--she now runs the inn by herself, with help from her bosses.
