Personality

Physicked has always been a little more lively than most prefer. A little louder and more rowdy than most in the medical field. Some have come to enjoy 'The Pysicksters' unconventional way of thinking. Some, mostly patients, are a little unnerved by it, often convinced the young man is ignorant or terrible at his job.

Physicked has never been one to agree with how melodramatic people get when dealing will illness. Yeah sure, it sucks, but it's not the end of the world. Besides there's always the chance that one will get better or a cure will be found. This coatl believes that the ill need to get over themselves and live their lives like they weren't dying and such.

This makes him come across as sarcastic or uncaring and has mistakenly offended a few clients. However, Physicked isn't a bad doctor, in fact he is well versed in the field and intelligent in general. But if people really can't hand his straight forward approach, it's their loss.

Backstory

Physicked was born in the desolate, frozen expanse known as the Southern Icelandic. The weak didn't survive long there, if parents didn't huddle over their children. It was likely they'd freeze to death. However, the young coatl was lucky enough to be born in a well heated lair. It was thanks to this that the young coatl didn't experience much illness. Rarely anything was able to survive in a frozen wasteland as is.

What he did experience, usually started as a cough in others. Something which they either recovered from or progressively worsened until they could barely breathe. Usually dying in their sleep. Seeing as he was a child then, he didn't understand these things happened or why the deceased individual would no longer wake up. His parents eventually explained that sickness was something that made a dragon feel terrible. Some would start to feel better again and some would go to sleep forever, in order to get better.

Of course, that explanation satisfied the young Physicked. However, he learned what dead was. What sickness was eventually, when he was older. After a few of his siblings and friends fell to the the same illness. Or was it the same? Before, it didn't matter what breed of dragon it involved, more recently, it was only coatls who were dying. The coatls never got better either, only worse. Usually quarantined when they started coughing up blood.

It frightened Physicked, but it also intrigued him. He wanted to find out what was happening, why it was happening. Most of all, he wanted to stop it. He wanted to help. Physicked brought the sick their medicine and despite his parents protests, he did so for the sick coatls as well. Some passed away quickly, while some lived almost normally, bit still hurt the young male that he couldn't help any of them get better. Instead, he decided that he'd figure out what this sickness was, and left one day to do just that.

He traveled across every flight and learned what he could. He learned of the Nosos Virus and The Afflicted. It was a blood inherited virus in most flight, except plague. Where it was contagious, leading to Physicked traveling to the vast pulsating land of disease in pursuit of the disease. In hopes he could learn how to kill it at its source. Though, he never expected he'd be welcomed into a plague lair in the north. There he learned much more about the virus as many were infected with it.

However, the dark coatl never expect to find the love of his life. He never really though anyone could fall in love with someone in his profession. Seeing as he dealt with death and disease all the time. Yet, the young woman was charmed by his sense of humor and unconventional way of thinking. The two eventually had a daughter, however much to her parents horror, their daughter was born infected with the Nosos virus. Physicked tried desperately to find a cure, but in the end it wasn't enough. His daughter passed away due to the virus and it really opened his eyes.


The Afflicted learned to live with a kind of hurt that no other breed of dragon could understand. Physicked learned that the hard way, however it did not break him. It only made him more determined to find a cure, even if it killed him too. This pain couldn't be allowed to last forever, he wouldn't let it. One day he was surprised to meet a coatl a little young than himself who also wanted to cure the virus. Physicked was more than happy to share what he knew of the virus to Keleon. The younger coatl became like a son to him and hopefully they'd be able to figure out a cure.
