Bahari has been allured by the crystalline waters around her island birthplace since she first saw them. Her parents hoped for her to gain a high position in the clan, like a mystic, scholar, or even an adviser. Bahari, however, had different plans. Growing up, she always escaped her parent's boring teachings and wandered the Gail'nen docks until the sun dipped beyond the horizon. She learned the name of every boat and became familiar with every crew. Captaining a ship was like second nature to her, and she soon acquired a boat of her own. In a rather devastating storm that rocked the island, Bahari's ship was bashed against the northern shore while she was trying to bring it to the docks. Her crew and she were barely able to escape before the tumultuous ocean swallowed the ship whole. In the months following the wreck, Bahari constructed herself a new ship by hand, building it from the strongest redwood logs. On it's first voyage out to sea, she christened it the Sun's Pheasant, the greatest merchant ship to grace the seas. Bahari herself is brash in nature. She has a natural beauty, and she knows it. It has gifted her all sorts of wondrous and pleasant favors in the past, and she isn't afraid to flaunt it to get what she desires.
