Maur traveled to the Skyewings with a daughter from a previous mating, Avarice. There he was regarded highly for his songs and poems from far lands that he had visited. Through the beauty of song, he met Toxiryn. A beautiful Imperial female who sported colours not unlike a poisonous frog of a far away jungle. While Maur came to love Toxiryn, something felt like it was missing. He wasn't whole with Toxiryn. One day, a gathering was called by the Skyewings Clan leader Zephyr and a neighbouring clan. Maur was very curious to meet this new clan and greet them with his comical and poetic songs. Then she spoke to him. A snowy beauty in the see of dark colours. They spoke of many things, but both found out that they were not happy with their mates. Eventually, the neighbouring clan had to return home and Maur found himself hoping he would see the snowy beauty that was named Iari. Several days later, Zephyr approached him with her mate Cirro. The Patriarch Elder of the clan held a letter in his small bat claws. Maur was spoken to about the letter from the the neighbouring clan. The letter spoke of Iari, and how she had fallen in love with him. He felt elated! He couldn't believe it! She was interested in him as a mate? He felt the same! He planned to leave immediately! Maur felt sad about Toxiryn, he did love her. But not in the same way he felt for Iari. When he told her, she merely smiled and nuzzled him. Telling him it was alright, and she didn't want a mate anyway, all she needed was her brother and she would be happy. Maur promised her he'd always be there if she needed him and then left for Iari. When Maur arrived at the clan, he was greeted by an ecstatic Iari. He settled into her den quite quickly and quite soon a nest of 3 eggs came to be. Maur adored his new family, he had sired many dragons, but this truly felt like home, with Iari and all the darling newborns before him. Though, of course, the day to leave came. Luckily, he saw the hatching of his hatchlings, a beautiful snow white angel, just like her mother. And two boys, that definitely took after the strong coloured gems of their father. Maur decided to return home, as he could not stay. He asked Iari is he could take their daughter, named Selaphiel, back with him. Iari agreed and suggested he take Samael aswell, both parents knew the black ice hatchling would create all kinds of chaos without his sister's influence. With that, Maur left the clan with Selaphiel and Samael nestled into his mane. He nuzzled Iari goodbye before he flew away back tot he Skyewings. |
