Quick Look:
THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS!
Temak remembers a time of laws and strictures, of the Imperial Moot and a division of peoples that, inevitably, would culminate in bloodshed on the rolling hills of his home. He was at the head of a clashing of ideals, an elected leader who refused the stolen crown though the tired warriors who followed him to battle were determined to see him made the new king. He sees nothing noble in his actions; who wouldn’t have done the same, if they were in his position? Besides, he never could have done it without Kier. When the fighting was at its worst an even he felt himself losing hope, only the strong heart and passionate soul of his second-in-command and future wife kept him going. Hers was always a stronger tenacity than his own, always ready to charge into battle with blade drawn yet still wise enough to know when tactics conquered brute strength; if ever he felt the doubt creep in, she was the one to set him right again.

The newborn kingdom needed a leader, however, and none were so well outfitted as he. After the falling of the Moot, he gathered together the brightest, fairest minds he could find and crafted a new law that the people would follow: whatever the wind blows in, he said, will be accepted as kin. Gone were the days of careful bloodline mixing, instead replaced with a melting pot ideal that would give all an equal opportunity at a fair and good life; and if they needed him to lead, then he would, though he prefers to call himself a Guardian of his people instead of a true king.

Temak has a heart of wind, being calm and gentle when at peace and a roaring tempest in times of trouble. He gardens often, covering his personal lands within the citadel in colour and life, and often walks the streets as an equal to his peers, but never does he move without a blade at his side and a sharpness in his eyes that hearkens back to more turbulent times. Peace is fragile, after all, and requires great strength to protect.

Argentum is a bit of a catty fellow, all smiles and easy words that hide the nature of a trickster just waiting for its next mark. He is manipulative and petty, and likes to think he runs the show.

Argentum is the last remaining member of the Imperial Moot still residing within Eitleog after the Battle of Doctrines, gifted with his life by Temak under the conditions that he give up the Old Ways and live peacefully and humbly among those he previously shunned. The birth of Argentum's first son, Ebrauc, was chief among the reasons why the King thought to pardon Argentum - otherwise, he would have been banished along with the others. Argentum took full advantage of this situation, quietly hiding away within the Citadel and allowing Temak to reign while plotting pure, sweet revenge.

Temak should have banished him while he had the chance. Argentum never truly gave up the Old Ways, and raised his son to be an instrument of war to be used in unison with the small army he was building under the King's nose. Forming the child into the exact kind of monster he needed to pursue his goals was easy; all it took was a little time and a bit of wit.

The Serthis hisses soft words of encouragement in his ears. Such sweet, wonderful words, the sort that Argentum loves to hear... and the Shade he fed to his son created just the conduit for war he needed.
