Iris the Illusionary

Iris was born into a clan of illusionists. They were known for using their flashy displays for entertainment and thievery. Both of their parents were among the most skilled illusionists among their clan. Their mother was a cold women who moved as silently as the night. Their father was an attention-seeker as encompassing as mist. When their nest hatched their parents immediately notice they were different from their siblings. They all had dark plumages and light to mid-shade stones. Iris was completely white head to toe. Their father immediately feared that the clan would cast their whole family out due to the ill luck and illness associated. Their mother feared for the health for the rest of the hatchlings, so they discussed.

Neither one of them had the heart to end their own child’s life, so they decided on a less lethal fate for Iris. They took them to the edge of the shadow and plague realm and left them there. Iris wondered into the plague realm, not knowing where else to go. Eventually they ran into another dragon suffering from albinism abandoned. They were a sweet yet easily-tempered wildclaw named Scarlet. Together they were little partners in crime. Iris would distract travelers with dazzling illusions while Scarlet would rummage and pickpocket.

As they grew older they travelled to other flights and all over sornieth. They ran into Galarock when they were staying in flight-neutral area during one of the expeditions. Iris spoke with some of the residents about what it was like living with the clan. When they heard about how much everyone in the clan cared for each other like they were family their heart ached. They've always wanted to be in a place like that, but only could form a true bond with Scarlet. Later that evening Iris told scarlet all about Galarock. Scarlet only indulged them partly, eventually growing tired of the constant talk of the clan. She snapped when Iris tried convincing her how much better it would be to live there. She quickly left so that she wouldn't lose her cool on Iris.

Iris tried finding Scarlet, but to no avail. The next morning Iris asked the clan if they could join them. They accepted them with open arms, but Iris stayed back when they left waiting for Scarlet. Scarlet returned two days later, bruised and scarred. When Iris asked what she was doing or why she was so hurt Scarlet just broke down. After they talked for sometime and discussed what they thought of their future together, they both left for Galarock.

Upon entering the clan they were both greeted with smiles and hugs. Scarlet had a rough time adjusting, meanwhile Iris immediately took to it. She entertained the hatchlings and few adults with wondrous shadow shows and illusions. Scarlet hung around two very old imperials who eventually became her friends.

Very soon after watching many of the clan members raise their own children Iris wished for their own. They discussed it with scarlet and they both could only agree on one. Not long after they had their own and only child; Sepia. She had inherited albinism from both her parents, and unfortunately double their stubbornness. Iris wanted her to help her with entertaining; meanwhile Scarlet wanted her to help her pickpocket. Sepia refused both these paths and became a trainee for the clans army. Although they both were a bit disappointed, they still accepted her wholeheartedly. They were both overjoyed when they met her fashionable girlfriend Lotriel. Iris even tried setting up the wedding between them despite Scarlet trying to calm them and Sepia telling them they had only been dating for a short time.
