Serena

Serena is shy and very modest, but secretly loves attention from other dragons. She won't go out and seek this attention, as she has a bit of stage fright, but is always proud when she is recognized for something she did. Serena loves to sing, and has been told by a few dragons who have listened that she has a wonderful voice. When dragons try to talk about her voice she gets extremely embarrassed.

Serena dreams of one day over coming her fear and singing in front of other dragons. However,
part of her fear comes from the fact that she has a strange ability; Serena can turn into one of the merfolk. As the Merfolk are one of the rivaling beastclans, she fears to reveal this secret.

She has a love for shells and fabrics, often spending times scouring the beach or shifting through clothing scraps all while humming a happy tune.

In clan Alys, Serena has made several friends, mainly the Last-Minute Replacements and the other Serena. Raszagal has been trying to convince Serena to join the Last-Minute Replacements for at least a few songs for ages, and she’s pretty sure it’ll just take a little bit more to convince Serena. Additionally, Serena and Xerces spend time together every now and then, as Xerces helps her overcome her worries about her merfolk ability.

Serena spends a lot of time negotiating with members of the beastclans. Clan Alys itself, while not aligned with the beastclans, is no great enemy of them either, and counts several beastclans as friend, trading with them often. Serena, with her merfolk form has gained the trust of many of these clans and taken the role of ambassador from Xerces.

At the university, Serena teaches a few classes on the history of the beastclans, as well as the different clans and their cultures. Xerces often gets drafted to substitute for Serena when she’s out of the clan on ambassadorial duties.

Serena is the life mate of Serena. They’re often referred to as ‘the Serenas’ or Serena².
