Rhubrab met her mate Custard when they were both children. From the very start, they felt attracted to each other, like magnets with opposite poles. They grew up together, and while they some times fought, they knew that they would come out the other side as better people, who still loved the other, no matter what.
They lived together in bliss for several years before tragedy struck the young couple. Custard became very ill with a rare brain disease, he quickly deteriorated and would forget who Rhubarb was. He died two years later in Rhubarb's arms, clinging weakly at her dress as they both sobbed sweet nothings to each other. Rhubarb was struck with grief and completely shut down in her mourning. As the days turned into weeks, she grew desperate and sort out the help of a demon, who goes by the mortal name of Cherry. They struck a deal. In return for Rhubarb's soul, Cherry would bring Custard back to life, so that they could be reunited once more. Once Custard was brought back to life, they both realised that a demons deal is never something that you should trust. Whilst he was completely cured of his illness, Custard was still doomed to suffer from severe blindness, which makes his job as a treasurer quite hard. Rhubarb helps him out, but she has always been a little bit scatter brained, so certain items in the clan's hoard become lost very quickly. They're a hot mess, but at least they're a hot mess together. From the beginning of time, to the end of time; they will always be one being. They belong to one another, equal in both partnership, and in ownership. One soul separated into two bodies; they truly were hatched for each other. Soulmates, until the very end.
