IRDENI
Clan Role
{A • B • C }
[Irdeni: J-963-DP: Abyssal Unit]
She was unearthed from the trench with the rest of them; machines long dead, laid to rest beneath the eastern ocean where their bodies grew ancient and rusted. Reactivated by Etherlight's robotics division, these draconic machines know naught of the new world and function fairly autonomously, driven by an innate curiosity. Or it would be called curiosity, if such a term did not bring to mind a childlike naivete and wonder.
No, these entities are driven by something more primordial and basic: a need to comprehend and analyse everything around them, as if their very being depends upon mere knowing. Many are the hours spent poring over the clan's scientific and esoteric documentation, and equally so the time spent interacting with modern technology and devices. These machines are alive by possession, lust for knowledge incarnate, gripped by the urge to place themselves in what must be the yawning timeline from their conception to the present day; to know where, when and why they are here.
Etherlight doesn't bother the machines: indeed, they seem to be eager to investigate the Breach and its related phenomenon more than any normal dragon would. The general consensus is that these mechanical creatures were ancient analytical or scouting aids for deep sea research, likely from a clan many generations gone.
They seem very much sentient, but focused so intently on acquiring knowledge that they bother little with pleasantries or social interaction. So most dragons leave them be, or sometimes request their aid in research, simply waiting out this 'initialization phase' of the machines, hoping that once they are perhaps satiated, they will aid the clan in more essential means.
