“Here you are Sirs.” The young pearlcatcher said as she balanced the tray of food, while adjusting the pouch on her side that held her pearl. She looked shyly at the trio of large Imperials. “Enjoy your meal.”
Chennault stared as Arden and Anscross both thanked her. After she left, the two taunted the dazed sunshine colored warrior.
“Hey, are you going to eat or keep looking at the scenery?” Anscross jibbed.
“Sorry.”
“Sorry? That’s all you can say? The great, out going, always talking Chennault? Sorry?” Arden piped in.
“Yes,snap out of it we’ve all seen pleasant looking females before. Of course, none have ever looked at him that way before.” the two comrades laughed as they began to eat their lunch.
Chennault only shook his head at his friends as he signaled to get her attention.
Both Arden and Anscross stopped chewing and waited.
“Yes?” the pearlcatcher asked sweetly when she returned.
Chennault nervously cleared his throat. “ I, um. wanted to see something rare.”
She looked at him confused. Arden dropped his head in shame for his friend.
“I’m sorry. Is there something wrong with your order? I can have it redone.”
Anscross chuckled, “Oh Chenn, that’s the best you can com up with?” He shook his head and tsked. “ No Miss, our friend here, Chennault, I believe was trying to say that you are the rarity, for some reason our usually overly talkative friend..”
“Obnoxiously talkative.” added Arden.
“Seems to be at a loss of words whenever you walk by.”
She glanced shyly at Chennault as Anscross continued. “Would you be so kind as to relieve his tortured soul by agreeing to see him later? Maybe tonight? He is really a very fine fellow.”
“He is that too.” Agreed Arden.
She grinned slightly and remove a piece of paper from her pad and wrote on it, folded it and handed it to Chennault. She turned and left with out a word.
He stared at the note.
“Well, for the love of first stone open it.” Arden commanded.
He opened it and nervously read to himself.

“I’m off at 4 meet me by the Star Fountain - Zo”

“Well?” The two said in unison.
“Guys, lunch is on me.” He looked up, smiling, then to Zo and returned her smile.
