Hilde arrived at the Fortress of Ends the morning after Freyja, heralded by a clear day and blinding sun. The two were apparently already acquainted; as the sun rose, they greeted each other with a nod and swapped shifts. Like the sun and moon, Freyja rises at sunset to lead the guard, while Hilde begins their watch at dawn.

While their origins are just as mysterious as Freyja's, their personality is less so. Brazen and opinionated, Hilde is much more willing to involve themself in the day-to-day affairs of the Guard. He is often the one who recruits and trains new members, and is a fair but demanding teacher.

Although their motivations are good, their strong convictions sometimes lead to clashes with other members of the Winterguard. They have a reputation as a force to be reckoned with, and is respected as a fiery leader and fierce warrior.
