In the mudbrick entryway of the Murkbarrow lair, several fresh planks have been hammered together to make a surprisingly sturdy second story. Colourful cushions are scattered across the perch, gathered into the occasional pile for a nest. Contrary to the crowded attic, only a few dragons live here; the creaking bones and tattered wings of the elders find rest and entertainment on this vantage point, watching dragons enter and leave the lair below.

Hatched in the deep caves under the roots of the Darkwood, Darvena's sharp tongue quickly dug out a niche for her in diplomacy. Her era in the Dusk Clan began at the crossing into the Labyrinth, and extended through the violent rise and fall of two leaders and the rise of a third.

The ringleader of the rebellion against her own children, Darvena possesses a silver tongue that serves both as a strategic advantage and a dangerous liability. She holds herself responsible for the deaths caused by the uprising, but stands by the decisions she made for the clan.
