Next to nothing is known about Tarn even with most of his fledgling life spent with Shriek, a brethren spirit in life. Nobody has ever witnessed the ridgeback without his helm which has been steadily upgraded and fortified over the years but nobody doubts his unwavering loyalty to Larisa much like his parter Shriek.

He is the enforcer of laws that Larisa imposes and ensures discipline and exaltation is exacted to the very glyph. Few would dare cross him and fewer still would actually win despite his smaller size as a ridgeback. Larisa and Shriek are the only known dragons to have beaten Tarn in combat and neither were pretty battles to behold.

While being strict and rather cultured he cares for the clan overall, and would gladly give his life so that the others may continue to live should the event ever occur. Currently he has an interest in courting Laelie formally due to her understanding and kindly nature that she had shown despite his helm and mysteries.
