Things of dire note seem seldom found in the desert.

The remains of lost livestock or withered plant might occasionally brush the feet of a brave passerby. Yet all the same they wither from the passage of time. However, the Shifting Expanse is no typical desert. Each glassy grain that blows across the dunes holds a story so magnificent it can put one's life in to perspective. Electrical surges ripple through here, giving rise to unexplained phenomena.

At least, that's what the inhabitants would tell you.

Still you stand here, thumbing through a recovered book. The binding unraveling and pages brittle from the dry air, each grain of sand has left its mark on the tangible piece of history, its date and author unrecorded. Its barely legible through the scrawled feather-pen cursive. You turn to the prologue.
