H E R A L D

Naught but a glorious and noble steed.

Herald is a lone shark, even through she lives at the top of the hierarchy. She had different plans when she was her own dragon, but since settling down outside of a pack, she's found other priorities than procreating.

One of those plans became collecting bones. She is a bone collector. She likes to make things out of the bones she collects, like apparel and wind chimes and little cages for the small rodents she keeps around as snacks.

When not collecting bones, Herald occupies her time by lying in wait. She likes to pounce on unsuspecting dragons in the lair in order to keep her reflexes up.
Also, Adosoda has rubbed off on her.

Sometimes, she pretends to be asleep, but really, she's eavesdropping on conversations. She occasionally lightly blackmails a few dragons if the tidbits are particularly juicy.

BACKGROUND

____Once upon a time, there was a young female mirror wandering around the Steppes of the Windswept Plateau. She was only slightly further away from the rest of her pack, following the trail of some tiny rodent because she was the kind of dragon that didn't leave leftovers floating around the hunting grounds. She was born and raised on the Plateau, following her mother around in the area as they both waited for her to be old enough to travel on her own. At the beginning of this story, this dragon was a few short days away from officially leaving the Plateau for a new zone. She was more focused on living a new life, and that was why she was vulnerable in the present to fall victim to the trap that was set up by a harpy hiding in a bush, waiting to catch a dragon.

____Since the start of their "friendship," Herald has roped other dragons into the extended torment of pranks, elaborate plans to gather familiars to the lair, and plots to earn treasure and gems she's had to endure at the hands of Adosoda. Overall, Adosoda has made Herald's life a lot more interesting, because otherwise she would have been wandering around in large packs of Mirrors, gorging on meat and seafood until she moved onto the next pack.

ROOST MASTER

____Though Herald stands at the top of the lair's hierarchy, she is not the one to call the shots. Rather, a small, winged figure often sits astride her back, switching between barking out orders, cackling maniacally, and glowering mercilessly. That harpy's name is Adosoda, Herald of Wind. She comes from an entirely different world, one drastically different from Sornieth. She is a manic traveler, more than just a Herald of Wind, she embodies many of the aspects of wind dragons herself. Only most of those aspects are laced with malice. Also, the traveling she does is dimensional. If you asked her how she did it, she would lie to you.

THE ROOST

SPECIAL DERGS

Seeke helped Herald (and Adosoda) start the Roost. Really, he was roped into it by accident, but he is the closest thing to a friend Herald allows herself. They're like awkward cousins and perfectly fine with their platonic relationship.

Boreas is Event Coordinator, a smart button and also cute.
He is not afraid to pressure everyone into doing trust-related activities, and he tries to buffer the weak-constituted dragons from Adosoda when necessary.

As one of the oldest members of the Roost, Adaryn is regarded with utmost respect, even by Adosoda. Herald allows him to sit in as Counselor to all the Roost's many problems and conflicts.

Ghost took Adosoda's Roost as her Charge,
as one of the first dragons to join. She has loyally attended to the safety and protection of the Roost and has done a great job so far, so she has met with Herald's personal approval.
