Personality: Gidae is a very playful and fun-loving dragon. She has a good sense of humor and is extroverted
Other: She was born without front talons. Her father DawnShade made prosthetics for her, and she had them put on as soon as soon as she was old enough so she could get used to them and learn to walk as soon as possible. She has no feeling in her metal talons, but she does have full control over them. She's doesn't really mind it when other dragons inquire about her prostheses, but sometimes it gets annoying to her, as she doesn't see herself as different or special.

Gidae was born different from her siblings due to the fact she lacked front talons. This disability worried her parents and her caring mother became extra protective of her daughter while her father did his best to come up with a solution through engineering. Despite the lack of talons, the young hatchling appeared very outgoing and quickly learned to hop around like a sprangyroo, which gave her parents inspiration to eventually give her a name meaning hope, because they saw she wasn’t letting her handicap get her down- and they weren’t about to give up either.

When she was old enough, her father gave her prosthetic talons to wear and helped her learn to walk properly in them and use them as if they were normal talons. Gidae learned quickly to control them as if she’d been born with the real things, though she didn’t have feeling in the prosthetics. New dragons will occasionally question her situation, though she doesn’t mind their curiosity. However, she has gotten annoyed if they try to make her seem different or special. The skydancer has grown up to become a great scavenger and bug catcher for the clan and is proud of the dragon she’s become.

Dawnshade tightened the leather straps holding his contraptions to his daughter’s chest, then stepped back to admire his handiwork. Dark burnished steel had been shaped and molded into spindly legs, complete with mobile joints and articulated digits. The metal itself was beautiful; a tough and streamlined carbon-steel alloy procured straight from the forges of the Blacksand Annex. It had taken some practice and had riddled his claws with cuts and burns, but Dawnshade had finally gotten the hang of working the metal into whatever shape he desired, allowing him to finally complete his engineering magnum opus.
“Do you like them?” He beamed at his daughter, who was examining her new limbs. Tentatively, she steered the legs underneath her and pushed her weight up. But almost immediately, her knees buckled and she toppled back onto the floor of her father’s workshop. He rushed over to her to help her back up, steadying her wobbly frame with a supportive wing.
“They’ll take some time to get used to, but I think they’ll work well in the long run.” Gidae had managed to steady herself, locking her new knee joints with a delicate shift in her weight.
“...I think I’ve got it now, you can let go.” She still sounded hesitant, but her father obliged and removed his wing from her side. He backed away, giving his daughter some space to really give her new legs a try. Slowly and shakily, she picked up her right leg and set it down again, taking a step. Trying to keep herself from buckling, she slowly wobbled her way across her father’s workshop, ending her arduous journey enveloped in her father’s embrace.
“I look like a Cerdae foal!” She laughed, resting her weight on her father’s shoulders.
“I know, but with some practice you’ll be running around in no time.”
“I can finally go out scavenging with everyone else...I can’t wait to show them!” She turned to teeter outside, but was stopped by a tap on her shoulder.
“Why don’t we take it slow for now, sweetheart. We can go walk around the steppes and test the mechanics on different terrain first, how about that?”
“That sounds great.” The two began to head out of the workshop, Gidae eager to face life with her new limbs.
